MALLEY September 19, 1931 February 17, 2006 With great sadness the family announces the passing of Michael on Friday the 17th of February, 2006 at Concordia Hospital after a brief illness. Surviving are his loving wife Alice; sister Elena Blake of Bellevue, WA; nephews, Cory and Rocky Gurman, John Blake of Washington, John Kearns of Vancouver; nieces, Diana Woodward, Kerry Blake of Washington and Linda Kearns of Vancouver. He was uncle and great-uncle to Shelley Produn (Paul), Lacy, and Ryan McDermid, special nephew Randy Forest (Janie), Nathaniel and Bethany, Lisa McCombe, Tayla and Marley, and James Waslawski (Pam), and Kaitlyn and Jillian of South Elgin, IL. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Veronica Malley; brother Nick; sisters, Rose Kearns of Vancouver, Kay Gurman, and Jean Kalansky. Michael was born in Stuartburn, MB on September 19, 1931. The family later moved to Winnipeg, in 1937 where Michael grew up and received his education attending Argyle School, Norquay School, and graduated from grade 12 at St. John's High School. He further educated himself taking Dale Carnegie Sales and Marketing Courses, Purchasing and Management Courses, Business Administration, Cost Accounting at Success Business College and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manitoba. He was employed by Coldstream Products of Canada from 1950 and took an early retirement in 1994 after holding a management position in sales and marketing both locally and inter-nationally. He met his beloved wife Alice of 54 years at high school and they enjoyed a wonderful life together traveling to exotic places. They enjoyed what there was to offer and making special friends along the way like Jerald and Val Follows of Crafers, South Australia. Mike was a member of Rossmere Country Club for several years where he enjoyed his passion for golf. He also enjoyed the company of his special golfing buddies, they know who they are. He was a special person to all who knew him. We will miss him and love him forever. There's a star that shines in heaven, It's brighter than the rest, When God took you to His kingdom He knew He chose the best. In accordance with Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date at the Holy Angel Mausoleum at Green Acres. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Humane Society, 5 Kent St. Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X6.
